Considering the precision and practical engineering environment, light spots are produced by an industrial laser source, and industrial digital camera is used as sensor to collect images with tiny displacements of target. The image binarization as one of digital image processing techniques is applied to the algorithm developed, and the least square fitting is used to achieve the transformation from image information to displacement information. Abstract
