Abstract

Due to the advancement of technology and computing, digitization of printed or handwritten text has become popular these days. Artificial Intelligence(AI), plays an important role in the advancement of technology and is considered for developing smart machines which can perform numerous tasks that require human intelligence. AI is an umbrella that covers everything which is required to make machines smarter. Machine Learning(ML) is an AI system that learns itself depending upon the algorithms and is a subset of AI where Deep Learning is the subset of ML which is usually applied to larger datasets. This paper proposes a survey for the recognition of various texts which are handwritten in nature based on ML and DL approaches. From the survey, it can be found how much accuracy is obtained for the recognition of a particular script based upon the technique used.
