Abstract

A new converter transformer (NCT) with unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) to provide compensation in the distribution system with the purpose of eliminate the current and voltage quality problems. The distribution network delivers power to different classes of non-linear loads. NCT adopts a typical wiring arrangement at the secondary side taking two windings namely as prolonged secondary winding and common secondary winding. In-between these two winding a linking point is available to connect the compensating devices.
