Decision Support Systems for the Textiles & Clothing Industry

Abstract

An Internet-based service of specific relevance to the issue of azo dyes subsequent to changes in regulations on imports of dyed textile goods to Germany, is discussed.Decision support for the entire supply chain, incorporating codes of practice, accreditation in the context of internationally recognised standards, and training for personnel in order that they might conduct business in an ethical manner is also explored in this paper. Systems design and the selection of data is illustrated by reference to environmental issues, working conditions, employee welfare and legal compliance.
