Abstract

The measurement of counselor competency improvement through group guidance training is the aim of this study. Types of qualitative research with data collection techniques are interviews, open questionnaires, and literature studies. The research sample was 67 school counselors who were obtained using a purposive non-random sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is triangulation. The results showed usefulness and an increase in academic and professional competence in providing group guidance services based on local strengths by 97.68%. Forms of local strength in games, ludruk, parikan jula juli, and traditional games can be included in selecting topics, interlude activities, and service techniques.
