Abstract

University Continuing Education has a longstanding tradition as a segment belonging to the field of adult education. In fact in some countries it can be seen as the nucleus of organised adult education. Given the technological and socioeconomical change as well as the demand for inclusive approaches and widening participation in higher education its importance has increased in recent years. A number of national governments request their universities to develop University Continuing Education in the context of lifelong learning.1
