Abstract

In order to achieve the quick and accurate location of the grounding electrode line fault and reduce the time of power supply recovery, a fault location method based on oscillation frequency of the neutral bus transient voltage is proposed. Theoretical analysis reveals the relationship between oscillation frequency of neutral bus voltage and grounding electrode line inductance. By taking the line model and its frequency dependent characteristics into consideration, the relation between the frequency and the fault distance of the grounding electrode line is established to realize the fault location algorithm.
