This paper is a review on the literature covering the wind turbine gearbox, further investigating different approaches followed when modeling gearbox system. Systems having one degree of freedom as well as having six degrees are investigated. Furthermore, transmission errors and tooth wedging are introduced, in relation with assembly discrepancies, as they are common problem arising in gearbox systems nowadays.
