Abstract

Summary This paper discusses a field test of seismic apparition, a simultaneous source technique for marine airgun sources that uses modulation to facilitate source separation. The first part of the paper focuses on the design of the modulation codes. The second part introduces a field test where a single line of 3D data was acquired using three two-string sources. This field test provides real data for testing current and future implementations of the seismic apparition method.
