Abstract

A novel dipole antenna working at sub-THz frequency is reported. This antenna uses silicon as substrate. Planar dipole is printed on top of the silicon substrate. To minimize the surface waves array of metallic vias are implanted in the substrate and the lower portion of the substrate is cut into a semi-cylindrical shape. Using these two techniques the proposed antenna structure achieved a simulated gain of 7.05 dBi with a radiation efficiency of 93.83%.
