Abstract

This work deals with eddy current nondestructive testing using swept frequency. A plate specimen made of austenitic steel SUS 316L containing artificial electro-discharged notches is investigated by two eddy current probes. A wide frequency range is used for the experiments while the probes containing transmitting and receiving coils are located in fixed position. The amplitude frequency characteristics of the probes are recorded as the response signals. Influence of the defects' length on the response signals is evaluated in order to investigate resolution of the method.
