Abstract

In this paper, we have demonstrated the feasibility of hardware implementation of 2-hop free space optical communication link. Modeling of the fading has been done with the use of modified optical chopper. This paper shows that the use of multi-hop communication system guarantees the BER performance system over direct link. Placing the relay node at different locations between transmitter and receiver also provides various results out of which the best results can be achieved when the chopper is placed at the mid of the link.
