Missed in the previous cataloging of Bombyliidae regionally and worldwide, the nominal genus Microrhina Kröber, 1928, is found to be a junior synonym of Heterotropus Loew, 1873, n. syn. and its type species, Microrhina eburata Kröber, 1928, from Turkmenistan
is transferred to Heterotropus, as a junior synonym of Heterotropus kazanovskyi Paramonov, 1925, n. syn.
