Abstract

The analysis of frames transmitted in 802.11a/n/ac demonstrates performance degradation when many devices need to transfer large data volumes. Furthermore, despite the frame aggregation implemented by newer standards (802.11n/ac), the same performance degradation was observed. The experiments in this research show that, regardless of the standard, it is possible to apply management techniques in aggregated frames in order to define the maximum frame size that can be transmitted. The results of this research show that, under specific conditions, the limitation of the maximum size of frames can enhance the performance of wireless networks despite standard revision.
