Abstract
The emerging IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) framework appears as a candidate solution to achieve generalized network and service convergence. Thus, the question of how to integrate satellite systems into IMS, based on a standard solution like DVB-RCS fully makes sense. In this paper, the main requirements to support IMS in DVB-RCS networks are identified, and optimizations for this integration are discussed. Experimental results emulating our network architecture proposals are also reported.
