Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X IPS 2 SMAN 17 Batam yang berjumlah 19 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan wawancara semi terstruktur. Soal tes digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan pemahaman konsep siswa dalam memahami konsep yang terdiri atas 3 soal berbentuk uraian. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas (r = 0,627). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa yang mampu memahami pada indikator menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep sebesar 5,26 %, menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi matematis sebesar 15,78 %, dan mengaplikasikan konsep ke pemecahan masalah sebesar 26,31 % sehingga hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa Kelas X IPS 2 SMA Negeri 17 Batam masih tergolong rendah pada materi trigonometri.Kata kunci: Analisis, Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep, Trigonometri.Abstract. This research aims to describe the ability to understand the mathematical concepts of students in trigonometric material grade X IPS 2 SMAN 17 Batam. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with research subjects is grade X student IPS 2 SMAN 17 Batam which numbered 19 people. Data collection techniques use semi-structured tests and interviews. The test question is used to measure the ability to understand students' concepts in understanding concepts consisting of 3 questions in the form of descriptions. Instruments in this study used validity and reliability tests (r= 0.627).
