Abstract

With prolonged operation durations of XLPE power cables, how to determine asset replacement time to avoid the accident caused by aging has become a major issue. In this paper, the biclustering completion (BC) principle is proved for restoring missing elements of a matrix and is firstly applied in the cable life evaluation. Six indicators such as load elongation, permanent elongation, breaking elongation, differential scanning calorimetry peak temperature, breakdown test rate and insulation resistance are selected to the life evaluation of XLPE power cables. The simulation results show that the biclustering algorithm is better than the traditional backpropagation algorithm and regression algorithm in accuracy and robustness.
