Abstract

Arbitrary-mode diffraction problems are solved analytically for a periodic sequence of a broad class of the complex metal-dielectric scatterers in the single mode regime. Such a control system as an absorbing cover, ladder-type mode and frequency filter, frequency and spatial discriminator are investigated. The peculiarities of the wave processes such as super-Q resonances, generalized Maluzhinetz effect are determined. The methods of optimization of the operational characteristics of the periodic structures are shown.
