Abstract

In the context of the accentuated development of digital technology, new methods of analysis and processing of signals have appeared, especially for electrical signals. Thus, the development of discrete methods for analyzing circuits and systems, as well as providing solutions in discrete form is no longer an inconvenience. This paper describes how the z-transform can be used in the electrical circuit transient analysis. It shows the implementation of this method for both first-order and second-order circuits, considering their initial conditions. The results obtained in discrete form were compared with the analytical form of the results. Also an error calculation was made.
