Abstract

In this paper, minimum ampere per torque strategy of interior permanent magnet synchronous machine in low voltage drive application is presented. The general optimization function is derived, with neglected the iron losses. Furthermore, the optimal dq currents were calculated. The presented mathematical and obtained optimal currents were further used to perform computational simulations. Two sets of simulations were performed in order to present the parameter sensitivity of minimum ampere per torque strategy. The main focus of the research was a variation of the two most important parameters, direct and quadrature inductances and their impact on the proposed strategy.
