Abstract

Covid-19, which was first seen in Wuhan, China in December 2019, affected the whole world and was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO) as of March 11, 2020. With the proclamation of the pandemic on the same date as the first cases in Turkey Covid-19 it was entered into the record. With the declaration of Covid -19 as a pandemic, countries have implemented both monetary policies and fiscal policies simultaneously in order to reduce the devastating economic effects of the pandemic. The measures taken to control the pandemic caused disruptions in the supply and consumption chain, the production capacity of the economies to decrease, and the production in some sectors to stop completely. As a result, countries have determined different policy strategies to eliminate the negative effects of the pandemic. As in all countries of the world preventive health measures and the impact of the pandemic in Turkey, however, it has taken economic measures. The pandemic affected all sectors, but the banking sector differentiates from other sectors and acts as the leading actor among the sectors in the pandemic process, both through the use of digital channels and as institutions that provide liquidity. However, since the infectiousness of the disease is through contact during the pandemic process, the necessity of minimizing contact has come to the fore and digital transformation has become a necessity in all sectors. With the pandemic, digitalization has gained a more strategic importance and the epidemic has accelerated digital transformation in all sectors. The banking sector is in position that is a more prepared for the pandemic compared to other sectors in terms of digitalization. study, the usage data of digital products / services of the banking sector, which is more advanced than other sectors in digitalization, are analyzed and as a result of this analysis, the effect of the pandemic on the use of digital banking products / services tried to be explained. analysis study, data on digital banking products / services belonging to the one-year period between September 2019 and September 2020, which includes the process from the beginning of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic to the present and before.
