Interseccionalidade, dororidade e empoderamento: As “preta-sapatão-feminista” do Sul

Abstract

: This paper presents the results of a qualitative research based on semi-structured interviews carried out in the interior of Rio Grande do Sul (RS, Brazil) with women who deal with categories as “black”, “sapatão” and “feminist”. From the idea of (r)existence, are analyzed individual discourses about the belonging of these women in the different social movements with which they identify themselves: black, lesbian and feminist. The objective, throughout the text, is to understand how the different social markers are articulated (gender, generation, race, class and sexuality) and how they influence individual experiences and collective empowerment. The articulating concepts of these experiences are intersectionality, “dorority” and empowerment, from which it is intended to apprehend in a somewhat localized way the experiences of social marginalization, as well as those of subversion. It is evident that the instituted power relations are constantly strained and not always belonging to groups occurs in a similar way or with the same intensity.
