Addressing the problem of integration using an extended enterprise model for enterprise

Abstract

In an earlier paper the authors presented an extended model of the enterprise using a multi-disciplinary approach grounded in enterprise architecture thinking. In this paper, the authors carry forward these concepts to undertake a broad analysis of the integration needs of the enterprise through a very wide lens at the level of the enterprise and beyond, and driving out insights that surface through this process. The material we present represents an analytical approach that either external consultants or an internal team ideally comprising senior business and IT managers can undertake.
