Oral English teaching is a significant part of English teaching in senior high school. The quality of oral English teaching plays a vital role in the improvement of oral ability and comprehensive language application ability. It is beneficial for the development of oral English education to apply task-based teaching approach into the senior oral English teaching. First of all, this paper discusses the current situation of senior oral English teaching and task-based teaching approach at home and abroad. Afterwards, it states the relevant concepts of task-based teaching approach.
