Abstract
A case of Guillain-Barré syndrome in a 39-year-old male is described. He was admitted to our hospital because of type A acute hepatitis. Five days after admission, he developed a progressive weakness of limbs. One week later, he also developed dysphagia and dyspnea. However, after 7 weeks almost all abnormal signs and symptoms disappeared. HA-IgM antibody and HA antibody in CSF was detectable and then decreasing with neurologic improvement. This finding suggests that Guillain-Barré syndrome may possibly be related to hepatitis A virus infection.
