Abstract
This paper reports the spectroscopic properties of praseodymium-doped lithium yttrium triple borates, Li6Y(BO3)3:Pr3+(1%). The complex of spectroscopic methods was applied. Emission upon X-ray and cathode beam excitation in the near IR and VIS-UV ranges as well as photoluminescence excitation spectra in region of 3.5 – 6.0 eV were studied. For this Pr3+- doped triple borates, the interconfigurational 4f15d→4f2 radiation transitions with nanosecond decay kinetics (τ ≈ 16 ns) were detected. Besides both the intraconfigurational 4f2 → 4f2 transitions and defect-related luminescence in visible and near IR regions were analyzed. Thermoluminescence glow was measured and parameters of charge carriers traps were determined.
