Based on the result of the current study to develop the interpretation skills of students and trainees, interpretation teaching programs should not only focus on theoretical and practical aspects of interpretation but also cognitive aspects such as memory development. Abstract

      This paper is concentrated on the impacts of short-term memory development techniques on students’ performance in interpretation courses. Subjects of the study are chosen among senior students of the Translation Department, Cihan University-Erbil. Based on the result of the current study to develop the interpretation skills of students and trainees, interpretation teaching programs should not only focus on theoretical and practical aspects of interpretation but also cognitive aspects such as memory development. 本文主要研究短期记忆发展技巧对学生口译成绩的影响。本研究以慈汉大学翻译系高年级学生为研究对象。根据目前的研究结果,口译教学计划不仅要关注口译的理论和实践方面,而且要关注记忆发展等认知方面。换句话说,研究结果表明,记忆增强技术对学生的口译表现有显著影响;因此,必须在课程中加入培养学生记忆力的实用课程,为学生顺利完成任务做好准备。
