Abstract

This paper presents a new view of molecular communication, molecular communication as a biological system. It is built upon fluctuations and interactions of molecules, i.e., building blocks of molecular communication. This paper discusses how fluctuations and interactions of molecules give rise to the small, large and critical numbers of molecules in biological systems. This paper also discusses research challenges related to understanding fluctuations and interactions and to designing molecular communication as a biological system.
