Abstract

A rigorous analytical solution for the electrodynamic problem of the T-mode propagation in elliptical coaxial waveguide using modified elliptical coordinate system is presented. The advantage of such approach consists in convenient final expressions for electrodynamic characteristics of the given transmission line, that also allow for simple transition to the specific case of circular coaxial waveguide. Explicit formulae for the characteristic impedance, transmitted power and attenuation constant are given and their dependencies on waveguide's geometrical parameters are graphically analyzed.
