Abstract

Children and adolescents who are hospitalized have painful experiences, both in relation to physical aspects of invasive procedures, as well as emotional aspects. The main goal of this article is to analyze the Brazilian academic production about the narratives of children and adolescents with cancer regarding their experiences of illness and hospitalization. The specific objectives were to understand the daily lives of these children and adolescents through their narratives; describe their daily lives and their needs and to explore how researchers can assist in the listening and communicating with these patients. The methodology is a literature review on the academic production of this topic in Brazil. Seven articles were analyzed. The researchers concluded there is a need to secure playful activities in the daily lives of children and adolescents, so they can communicate their anxieties Hachetetepé.
