The antenna is introduced with the notches in the patch and two slots and notches in the defected ground plane having slot of size (ג/4) resulting in the improvement of the peak gain of the antenna to 6.8dB which is 17.5% more gain than the conventional antenna design. The antenna is constructed over a dielectric substrate FR4 epoxy of relative permittivity 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.017, the dimensions of the antenna are 50×55×1.75(mm). The impedance bandwidth of this antenna is from 2-10.6GHz which is 125% of the conventional antenna (defined by the 10dB return loss). The VSWR is less than 2dB over the entire operating range of antenna.
