Abstract
Due to the security and performance of the new distributed generation (DG) systems, a specialized diagnostic system is needed to detect different incidents. One of the vital requirements for the safe operation of distributed generation is the identification of islands. In this paper, a new method for detecting passive islands is proposed for the first time and tested under different network conditions with the help of Diffusion Oscillators. This method is designed to detect changes in the common coupling frequency point by identifying the transformation of the Duffing oscillator from a turbulent state to a large period of time and vice versa. We use the Duffing equation because it is widely used in the classical nonlinear system. The simulation results performed by the MATLAB / Simulink software are used to verify the performance of the proposed method. It has been shown that the proposed method has a very high accuracy with the minimum detection time, even in the presence of large ratios of noise to the signal.
