Abstract

Network fault management is an important part of Network management. Aiming to the problem of the traditional SNMP-based network fault management, a mobile agent-based network fault diagnosis model is proposed, which applies mobile agent technology to network management, so it can monitor, detect and deal with network fault autonomously. The structure and function of model, especially the architecture and strategy of diagnostic agent, is depicted. Finally, comparing the system performance through experiment and results show that the network fault diagnosis based on mobile agent has greater advantage.
