The proposed methodology and tools provide a homogeneous solution for: (a) specifying the functions expected of the systems; (b) transforming the specifications into graphical representations; (c) designing the software; (d) checking that the design complies fully with the specification; (e) automated code generation; and (f) managing specification-design-code traceability through all modifications and updates. Abstract

Computer aided software engineering (CASE) tools for supporting the mechanization of telecommunication systems specification and development in a real-time environment are discussed. The authors focus on the methodology, which includes the processes and procedures for the telecommunication system development life cycle model.
