The Greek vocational educational system has a long history which goes back to the beginning of the century. Throughout this history, the vocational education sector has always been treated as a stepchild within the general educational system. 1 Vocational schools were basically designed for those children who were so far behind intellectually that attendance in a college preparatory secondary school or the university was out of the question.2
