Abstract

We numerically study the mid-infrared supercon-tinuum generation employing a 5-cm-long dispersion-engineered all chalcogenide step-index fiber made using As2 Se3 glass as a core and Ge11.5As24Se64.5 glass for its outer cladding. An ultrawideband supercontinuum spanning up to $14\mu m$ could be generated employing a pump source having 170-fs pulses at $5.5\mu m$ with a peak power of 10 kW.
