Abstract

The rapid increase in electrical loads in Iraq has led to many problems in distribution networks. Feeders overload is one of these problems, resulting in inability to supply some loads. In addition, losses are increase, and higher than the world standard value. These problems can be solved by increasing the voltage at the distribution networks. The Yarimja substation (132/33/11 kV) in Mosul was selected to collect feeder data and transformer loads. Transformer loads are redistributed to ensure safe loading of transformers. The rearrangement of the distribution transformer takes into account the optimal solution for irregular distributed power in networks. The feeding unit “Noor AI-Mustafa” was used to show the results of implementing this proposal. Furthermore, the proposed method of replacing 11KV with 33KV distribution transformers has successfully addressed the problems of overloading and high losses of distribution feeders and distribution transformers
