Spirituality of Christian-inspired communication. A practical theological exploration

Abstract

Dieser Artikel ist ein Beitrag zur Spiritualitat einer christlich-inspirierten Kommunikation. Anstatt theoretische Uberlegungen anzustellen, wird der Geist der kommunikativen Handlungen Jesu analysiert. Das Ziel und die Techniken seiner Kommunikation sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden und dienen allesamt der Verkundigung des Reiches Gottes. Auf die Analyse der ganz eigenen Art Jesu zu kommunizieren folgen Konsequenzen fur eine christlich-inspirierte Kommunikation in der heutigen Zeit: Damit eine christlich-inspirierte Kommunikation funktioniert, muss sie einige Schlusselkriterien wie Offenheit, Authentizitat, positive Wirkung, Respekt und Mitwirkungsmoglichkeit erfullen. Nur die Formen von Kommunikation, die durch Spiritualitat getrieben werden, sind in der Lage das Pfingstwunder greifbar zu machen. Authentische christliche Kommunikation bezeugt die in ihr lebende Botschaft Christi, was diese bewirkt und wie sie in die Welt verkundet wird.  English: Hans Geybels: Spirituality of Christian-inspired communication. A practical theological exploration This article is a contribution towards the spirituality of a Christian-inspired communication. Rather than making theoretical reflections, the spirit of Jesus’ communicative actions is analysed. The goal and techniques of his communication are inextricably connected, and all serve to proclaim the Kingdom of God. After investigating Jesus’ own way of communicating, consequences that entails for a Christian-inspired way of communicating today can be identified: for Christian-inspired communication to work, it must comply with several key criteria, such as openness, authenticity, positive action, respect, empowerment... Only communication driven by spirituality is able to re-enact the miracle of Pentecost. Authentic Christian communication testifies how the message of Christ lives within them, what it brings about in them, and how they testify about it in the world.
