Abstract
Elementary school students' mathematical ability plays an important role in the development of their future, but the proportion of low-achieving elementary students in mathematics in Taiwan is high due to their aversion to mathematics. The aim of this study is to establish a learning system to help low-achieving students' learning in mathematics. A 3D game-based learning system was developed in this study to achieve the aim and the students' learning outcomes were measured by the pre, post-test and their learning logs in the system. The participants were 6 elementary school low-achieving students studying in Northern Taiwan. The results showed that the system improved their learning outcomes. The design of the system can also be a reference for developing future virtual learning systems for mathematics.
