Abstract
This work presents a real time method for through the wall imaging based on a simple transmission line model and a continuous wave radar. In particular, after a preliminary data preprocessing the radar traces are decoupled, and modeled as a set of transmission line segments interconnected together. The echoes present in the radar traces, which represents targets belonging the inaccessible domain, are modeled as mismatches in the transmission lines. Then a simple inversion procedure is considered to identifies the mismatches and consequently the unknown walls or objects characteristics. The knowledge of the walls and objects characteristics permits to remove or mitigate the image defocusing and location displacement of the targets (namely persons belonging the inaccessible scenario). The proposed method has been numerically assessed considering realistic scenarios and the obtained results are quite promising.
