Abstract

This study investigates the leg crossing effect originated from meditation. We use pulse transit time as index for this study. Pulse transit time is measured form the time interval between ECG R peak position and the corresponding pulse peak. There are 14 subjects participated in this study and two half lotus leg crossing postures and one free leg stretch posture are required. The PTT results indicate that distance between heart and the limbs is one major factor, and the other factor is the leg crossing postures that hinder the blood flow rate.
