Abstract
Handloom weaving, known to the Mizos right from the historic ages plays an important role in the economic development of Mizoram. It contributes significantly in generating employment opportunities and sustaining livelihood to the weavers. In the present study, an analysis is done on the socio-economic profile of handloom weavers and problems of this industry in Zuangtui Handloom Cluster that lies at the outskirt of Aizawl City, Mizoram.
