Abstract

This paper describes how Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) is appropriate for Adaptive Beamforming (ABF). The required direction of receiving signal is maintained by directing the major lobe. The ability of an adaptive antenna array to direct the beam is achieved by implementing a beamforming algorithm by varying the phase of the element in linear antenna array. A complete implementation of ABF using Particle Swarm Optimization technique has been proposed by building code using MATLAB software.
