Abstract

We consider the critical problem of the optimal time to implement the controlled damping of the small angular velocity of a microsatellite by means of onboard magnetic coils. The purpose of this paper is to ensure the angular velocity of the microsatellite is decreased asymptotically. Optimal reduction of the angular velocity is achieved by minimizing the function determining the degree of acceleration of the rotational motion of the microsatellite. The main result of this paper is to obtain analytical formulas for calculating the moments of the magnetic coils in order to dampen the angular velocity according to the small value specified.
