Abstract

This paper presents a solar photovoltaic (SPV) power system using a soft switched phase-shift PWM dc-dc converter with high frequency isolation. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of the SPV source has been achieved by phase shift control of the gate drive signals using perturb and observe (P&O) technique. A prototype model of phase shift PWM dc-dc converter has been fabricated in the laboratory and the MPPT control has been realized with dsPIC30F4011 microcontroller.
