Abstract
It is obvious to see why the ET nurse caring for the individual with a diagnosis of SLE should be familiar with the many facets of the illness. These individuals may have spent years in the health care system, they may be discouraged with the chronic nature of the disease, and they need the reassurance that they will be treated on an individual basis with understanding and patience.
