The structure of the developed software package and its individual modules are described along with external and built-in databases used in it, its software implementation, the list of problems to be solved, and the assumptions adopted in the calculations. The functionality of the developed Wind Turbine software package is compared with the capabilities of the basic modules in the most popular WindPRO software package used in international design practice, which has a similar structure and is intended for solving the same problems. To verify the calculations carried out using the developed Wind Turbine software package, a comparative wind energy calculation was carried out using the WindPRO software package for a promising wind farm site located near the Kitovy settlement in the Iturup Island, and for identical wind turbine models. Based on the calculation outcome, a comparative analysis of the results obtained using the two considered software products is carried out. Information on the further planned development of the Wind Turbine software package, on the potential of using it in the educational process, in applied research, and in the design process is given.
