The obtaining of new approaches and methods for determining the technical condition index will open the possibility of making more accurate predictions about the current condition of equipment, on taking the equipment out for repair or completely replacing it as a whole or its functional unit. Abstract

Within the framework of the development of expert systems, the article describes -- based on an analysis of drawbacks of the existing methods — elaboration of a new approach to identifying the technical condition of main process equipment. The authors are working on the development of a specialized expert system capable of changing its structure and a knowledge base, supplementing it, and solving a number of tasks to identify the technical condition of equipment. The obtaining of new approaches and methods for determining the technical condition index will open the possibility of making more accurate predictions about the current condition of equipment, on taking the equipment out for repair or completely replacing it as a whole or its functional unit.
