Abstract

AbstractTracking and monitoring construction projects are essential tasks to make decisions on the projects. There are various techniques to collect and store data from the construction site. In the current construction sector, informatics play an important role in collecting and interpreting data from construction processes. In recent studies, various technologies such as RFID, UAV are used for surveying the construction site. However, there is a study about collecting and interpreting the collected data is still needed. In this study, the collected data is categorized by labeling with several dimensions (e.g. location, contractor) using business intelligence and data warehouse tools. Moreover, this technique allows us to construct relationships between activities and generate practical information. The major implication of this study for engineering managers is monitoring the public demands and construction processes within one framework. Keywords: Urban ConstructionGovernmental SectorBusiness IntelligenceProject MonitoringConstruction TrackingDecision Support SystemsEMJ Focus Areas: Decision Making & Risk Management, Organization & Work System Design Organizational & Performance Assessment.

EMJ is designed to provide practical, pertinent knowledge on the management of technology, technical professionals, and technical organizations. EMJ strives to provide value to the practice of engineering management and engineering managers. EMJ is an archival journal that facilitates both practitioners and university faculty in publishing useful articles. The primary focus is on articles that improve the practice of engineering management. To support the practice of engineering management, EMJ publishes papers within key engineering management content areas. EMJ Editors will continue to refine these areas to ensure they are aligned with the challenges faced by technical organizations and technical managers.
