Abstract
AbstractThis study aims to investigate the influence of psychological capital and social capital on the social entrepreneurial intentions of students through social entrepreneurial outcome expectations. The study employs partial least squares structural equation modelling to evaluate data from 753 students. The results indicate direct impacts of social entrepreneurial outcome expectations on social entrepreneurial intentions. Furthermore, the research supports the hypothesis that social entrepreneurial outcome expectations mediate the relationship between psychological capital, social capital, and social entrepreneurial intention. The study suggests policymakers and higher educators should increase awareness of the outcomes of being a social entrepreneur and the important role of social business in society. Educational programmes that increase social capital and nurture psychological capital should also be considered to impact social entrepreneurial intentions positively. Keywords: Social capitalpsychological capitalsocial entrepreneurial intentionoutcome expectationssocial entrepreneurship AcknowledgementThis research is funded by Thu Dau Mot University, Vietnam.Disclosure statementNo potential conflict of interest was reported by the author(s).
